About Jodi
Artist, Cat Mom, Nature Lover
I’m a painter based in Florida, originally from the coastal shores of Delaware — a love of the natural world has always been at the heart of my art. I work primarily in acrylic, creating expressive, vibrant paintings with bold brush strokes, layered textures, and luminous color.
My work is inspired by the beauty of nature — seascapes, landscapes, seabirds, and florals. I enjoy exploring the interplay of light and movement, using layers to build depth and evoke feeling. My goal is to offer viewers a sense of calm, joy, or even a moment of escape — to transport them to a peaceful or happy place.
Though I didn’t study art in college, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside several talented artists and mentors who have shaped my creative path. After a long break, I returned to painting in 2021 — and rediscovered what I’ve always known: art is my first love.
My work is currently on display at the GCAA Gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
I love all animals, but our hearts were captured by a 5-year-old abandoned cat in 2003. She turned us into cat people and although we miss her every day, her spirit lives on in our 2 current kitties. We remind them every day that they owe the big sister who came before them a debt for their current (totally spoiled) situation. You may see glimpses of our girls in some of my paintings. Buffet, Utley and Jimi, this is all for you!
Buffet
Our first baby who crossed the rainbow bridge 10 years ago. We were so lucky to spend 9 years with her. We miss her everyday.
Utley
We found this sweet girl when she was a few weeks old. She is definitely the ruler of our home!
Jimi
We rescued Jimi when she was 4 years old and she is constant joy. She keeps us laughing everyday!
